Workshop Technician


3D at Depth is looking for a full-time Workshop Technician to support our global operations.  The Workshop Technician will be a key player in supporting the fast-growing subsea laser scanning market. Projects will primarily be in the global offshore Oil and Gas market with the person assisting onshore base operations, logistics and technical interfaces.

The responsibilities of the Workshop Technician include but not limited to the following:
  • On-shore project and product support
  • Receive and ship items and equipment both locally and globally 
  • Conduct equipment inspections and basic level repairs 
  • Conduct workshop activities to ensure timely preparation of equipment to meet project requirements
  • Systems integration and testing
  • Logistic support and asset tracking
  • Occasional field-based equipment support to customers and field staff as required
  • Occasional remote based equipment support
  • Occasional travel locally and out of state to support field-based operations
  • Willingness to work outside normal working hours (M-F 8-5pm) in order to meet deadlines for upcoming projects 
  • Will be tasked with transporting equipment and possibly personnel to project sites up to ~ 600 miles from Houston 
The Workshop Technician will work under the Project Support Manager and be based in Houston, TX.
Expected travel could be up to 30%.

Applicant requirements:
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Valid Driver’s License 
  • Ability to pass medical /physical (lift 50lbs)
  • Computer troubleshooting skills; networking and software skills
  • Solid experience of Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Availability to travel outside of the state with minimal notice.  
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Minimum age: 20
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in a workshop environment
  • Operating a forklift
  • Working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (e.g., pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems and trucks)
  • Survey equipment troubleshooting
  • Survey sensor integration
  • Project support experience

Subsea Construction Surveyor/Subsea LiDAR Specialist (SLS)

3D at Depth is looking for a full-time Subsea Construction Surveyor/Subsea LiDAR Specialist (SLS) to support our clients with operations, data processing, training and project support.  The SLS will become a leader in the fast-growing subsea laser scanning market. Projects will be in the offshore Oil and Gas market and the SLS will be required to work on rigs or vessels supporting global projects.

The responsibilities of the subsea Construction Surveyor/Subsea LiDAR Specialist (SLS) include:
  • On-shore client project and product support
  • Project planning
  • Off-shore systems integration and operations
  • Processing point cloud data to develop or validate client deliverables; off-shore and on-shore
  • Delivering technical training
  • System logistics support and field readiness
The SLS will work under the Global Offshore Operations Manager in Houston, TX.
Expected travel could be up to 50%.

  • Technical degree in related field
